The Objective

This project fulfills the need to create a reflective and uplifting space for the prayer and teaching of Islam. While the challenge of this project is the relatively small area for a masjid, it is complete with parking space, restrooms, a prayer hall and a second-floor multi-purpose room that can act as an extension of the praying area or as a place for learning. Located in a residential area in southern Jakarta, the east, west and south facing geometric patterns, filter the amount of heat entering the space and enhance the tranquility of the space.
